Multiple Windows
To Copy between files.
Open all the files needed.
Open the Window menu and select the file to copy from.
Select the text to be copied.
Click on the Copy button.
Open the Window menu and select the file to copy to.
Place the text where the text will be inserted.
Paste the text.
Create a Text Box
To enter text in a Text box:
Open the Insert menu and select the Text box.
Enter the text.
Insert File
Place the cursor where the file is to be inserted.
From the Insert menu, select File.
Choose the type of file to be inserted.
Select the file and confirm.
Create a Header
Open the View menu and select Header and Footer.
Enter the header or footer text.
Chooe the Header and Footer Toolbar.
To edit an existing header:
Go the the Page Layout View if necessary.
Double-click on the Header area and make revisions.
To return to the main body of the document, double-click on the (grayed) body text.
1st Page Header
Open the View menu and select Header and Footer.
Click on the Page Setup button.
In the Page Setup dialog box, choose different 1st page and confirm.
Enter the Header Text for the 1st page.
Close the Header and Footer Toolbar.
Numbered List
Select the desired paragraphs.
Click on the Numbering button.
Automatic Bullets
Begin a paragraph with a special character followed by a space or atab.
Enter text for the list.
Press the enter key.
To turn of the bullets: either press the Backspace Key to stay on the current line or press the Enter Key to leave a blank line.
Insert Symbol
Place the insertion point where the symbol wil be placed.
Open the Insert menu and select Symbol.
Select the Symbols Tab.
Choose the Font and click on the symbol desired.
Click on Insert.
Apply a Style
Select the desired paragraph(s).
Click on the Style selector.
Click on the new style.
Modify a Style
From the Format Menu  select Style.
Select the style to modify and click on the modify button.
Click on the Format button.
Select the attribute to change.
Make changes and confirm.
Modify Template
Open the Template(.dot) file.
Make the modifications.
Save the Template file.
Create a Table.
Place the insertion point where Table will be inserted.
Click on the Insert Table button, (icon-to click and drag, may also use Table button.)
Select the desired number of rows and columns.May select by clicking and dragging.
Click in the cell where the text will be inserted.
Type the desired text. Use the Tab button to get to the next cell.
Move a Column
Select the Column or Row.
Click the right mouse button on the Column or Row to be moved and select Cut from the Shortcut menu.
Click the right mouse button at the destination and select Paste from the shortcut menu.
Copy a Row
Select the Row or Column.
Click on the right mouse button on the Row or Column to be copied.
Select Copy from the shortcut menu.
Click on the right mouse button at the destination and select Paste Rows from the shortcut menu.
To see that the row as been properly slected, click on the Show and Hide button.
If the mark is selected, the pasted Row will be inserted into the existing rows.
If the mark is not selected, the Pasted Row will replace the contents of an existing row.
Insert a Row
Click on the Insert Rows button.
The Insert Rows button will appear on the toolbar after clicking inside the table.
You may also Insert a row by clicking on the right mouse button where you want to Insert the row.
Then select Insert Rows from the Shortcut menu.
Delete a row
Select a Row or Column to be Deleted
Click on the right mouse button when the pointer is placed in the selected cells to display the shortcut menu.
Select the appropriate Delete item from the shortcut menu.
Sort Table Data
Place the insertion point anywhere on the table.
Open the table menu and select sort.
Choose the Sort options in the sort dialog box.
Confirm the Sort options.
Table Borders
Open the shortcut menu to select Borders and Shading.
Choose a Box Type.
Choose a Line, Style, and Width
Confirm the Borders Options
Create Auto Text
Select a Text and/or Graphics for the Auto Text Entry.
From the Insert Menu select Auto Text and choose New.
Enter a name for the entry and confirm.
Insert Auto Text
Place the Insertion Point where the entry should be inserted.
Type the name of the Auto Text entry and press the Enter key.
Create Auto Correct
Select the text for the Auto Correct Entry.
From the Tools menu select Auto Correct.
Choose Plain or Formatted Text.
Enter Name for the Entry and confirm.
Use Auto Correct
Enter the name of the Auto correct entry followed by a space or punctuation.
Paragraph Margins
Select the paragraph(s).
Move the left indent marker on the ruler.
Move the right indent marker on the ruler.
If ruler is not displayed, open the view menu and select ruler.
Page Margins
Open the file  menu and select Page Setup.
In the margins tab enter the new settings for the margins.
Page Numbers
Open the View menu and Select Header and Footer
Switch to the Footer.
Enter any leading text that should appear before the page number.
Click on the Page Numbers button.
Close the Header and Footer Toolbar.
